The Charity

Celebrating Sanctuary Birmingham is a registered charity working with refugees and asylum seekers.

• We believe that sanctuary is a human right.
  
• We aim to provide a platform for refugees and asylum seekers living in the West Midlands to share their different cultural identities.
  
• We attempt to challenge some of the misleading information from the media and some politicians by opportunities for everyone to interact with refugees and asylum seekers.
  
• We provide a framework for local organisations and schools to organise activities aimed at improving public awareness about refugees and asylum seekers.

The Trustees form a Management Committee of enthusiastic individuals including representatives from ASIRT, Cite Celeste, Refugee Action, the Refugee Council, Restore, and Save the Children.
